Recently I was privileged to be part of Isabella and James wedding day. As soon as I met the family they made me feel welcome with their warmth and friendliness. We had our meetings, planned the shots we were going to take and of course, once I’d spotted that they had doggies, realised that they would have to be a part of it too, so naturally, on the wedding day, this was one of the first shots we took.
Isabella’s beautiful lace, vintage looking dress, bought from Chantilly Lace in Westcliff on Sea and designed by David Tutera was hanging on the wardrobe when I arrived, it was simply stunning and I took the opportunity to photograph it straight away. The bridesmaids’ dresses came from Bridal Boutique and those were an unusual fuchsia colour with a design that complemented our brides’ dress perfectly. The intricate and beautiful headdresses were a work of art, these, plus the bridesmaids’ bouquets were done by Penny Jane in Leigh on Sea.
Isabella has one sister Lucinda and she was on hand to help and it was lovely to see the special bond they have and to photograph them together. Mother of the Bride looked absolutely gorgeous too and was wearing a silver lace outfit with matching hat from John Charles.
Isabella’s bouquet was made by Noaki on Etsy, she actually spotted it on my website whilst viewing the photos of another couples’ twilight wedding at The Lawn, she said ‘I loved it’s intricate design and the way it sparkled, and just the fact that it was a bit different’.
It was a pleasure to be able to do the bridal preparation photographs in such a beautiful home, Isabella looked amazing in her wedding dress, she wore a matching veil and her beloved Nanna’s earrings, I managed to get some lovely shots against the wall outside too.
On to St Andrews Church in Rochford where the boys were waiting, they looked great in their suits from Moss Bros and seemed happy and excited. The Best Men were James’ brothers Brad and Matt.
We had a lovely ceremony led by the Rev. Peter Nicholson, then out into the sunshine for the short journey to The Lawn in vintage cars provided by Aristocars.
Isabella and James posed for their first photographs together as a married couple. As always the gardens at The Lawn were looking immaculate, flowers were colourful and in abundance and the lawns were well manicured which provided the perfect backdrop for our wedding photographs. The trees were covered with blossom and our happy newlyweds had time to look at their rings and have a few moments to themselves.
Photographing the details is something I enjoy especially when care and attention has been taken in choosing the little extras that go to make the day more aesthetically pleasing. The orangery looked really beautiful, the table settings and flowers had been carefully arranged to maximum effect, even the cake and favours from Cookie Delicious with it’s delicate flowers had been colour co-ordinated to match.
Andrew and the staff at The Lawn were their usual brilliant selves and the food was served promptly and efficiently. After the food we had the speeches which provided entertainment, then on to the cutting of the cake.
Isabella and James were happy to have more photos and we got some fabulous romantic wedding photographs in the grounds of The Lawn. The funniest moment came when Isabella tossed the bouquet and one very happy lady caught it to the laughter and applause of the onlookers. Finally the first dance and Isabella and James could not have looked happier.
I am excited at the prospect of producing their beautiful Graphistudio album in the very near future.
