Essex Wedding Photography at The Lawn, Rochford – Gill & Martin
Lovely to be back at the Lawn in Rochford again for Gill and Martins Christmas wedding and so nice to see David and the team.
Its been a funny couple of years with so many weddings and events cancelled but that didn’t stop Gill and Martin from celebrating and enjoying themselves at their winter wedding. As usual nothing was too much trouble for the staff at the Lawn and everyone was able to relax and take in the comfortable atmosphere. Gill looked lovely in a burgundy dress, perfect for a winter wedding. Flowers were by Gill at Courts of Rayleigh.
Wedding Photography at Maison Talbooth, Dedham, Essex – Kelly & Steffen
It’s great to be back, and what better way to start the season than at fabulous Le Maison Talbooth in Dedham Essex.
A beautiful venue which I love working at. Tranquil, peaceful and just in case you fancy a dip there’s a great swimming pool. Kelly and Steffen chose Le Maison Talbooth to celebrate their wedding with a small gathering of family and friends. As Steffen is German his family were unable to come so I hope they enjoy these few photos from what was a glorious day. The sun shone and guests relaxed and enjoyed themselves in the pool house.
Kelly looked amazing in a stunning lace dress, she was comfortable in front of the camera and we got some great shots. The bridesmaids wore beautiful floral dresses and Steffen looked good in a pale grey suit. An emotional Kelly walked down the aisle as Steffen relaxed for the first time when he saw her. Their happiness was plain for all to see. Gorgeous flowers were everywhere and the mood was chilled and happy. So pleased to be part of Kelly and Steffen’s wedding day.
Thank you to a lovely couple and best wishes from all of us at ruthknightphotography
Essex Wedding Photographer at the Roslin, Thorpe Bay – Claire & Martin
Who would have thought that this would be the last wedding I did before falling at Schipol airport and breaking my shoulder, rendering me unable to work. Then just as I was able to hold a camera again the Coronavirus dominated our world making weddings impossible and wedding work still impossible.
When I look at these photos of Claire and Martin on their wedding day I realise how lucky we were to have this celebration.
Claire and Martin chose the Roslin as their wedding venue and they were surrounded by loving family and friends. It was packed which made it difficult to get photos so we used the huge mirrors to our advantage using them as a reflective backdrop, lights and colours enhanced the scene. We even attempted a group shot which was a lot of fun and had people laughing. Now it seems unthinkable that so many people could be together in one room.
Claire and Martin look so happy celebrating their wedding day as it should be celebrated with love, laughter friends and family. I look forward to designing their Graphistudio album, it will look gorgeous and it will be my absolute pleasure to present it to such a lovely couple. Congratulations and Best wishes. X
Wedding Photography at Cromwell Manor, Pitsea, Essex – Rachel & Jason
I recently had the pleasure to photograph the wedding of Rachel to Jason at Cromwell Manor. It was my first time working at this venue and I have to say I was very impressed with the staff, the vast grounds and the facilities. The manor itself is a 15th century wedding and banqueting venue based in Pitsea, Essex. The bridal suite is very spacious and there was plenty of room for Rachel and the girls to get ready. Rachel wore a lovely dress with a gorgeous waistband detail and she looked fabulous.
Rachel and Jason had chosen Cromwell Manor for its relaxed feel and spacious grounds, the large willow tree provided and excellent shady backdrop for my wedding photography on what was a very hot day.
Jason and the boys wore grey suits which looked really smart and their cerise pink ties matched the colour of the bridesmaids dresses.
Rachel and Jason share little Max And Jason officially became stepdad to Mitchell and Morgan. The three children were very involved in the wedding.
Thank you for asking me to be your photographer, it was my privilege and I wish you all the very best for the future.
Essex Wedding Photography at St Andrews & 100 Golf Club, Rochford – Nicola & Tim
I have recently had a great day with Nicola and Tim, the weather was perfect and their chosen venues were St Andrews Rochford then directly opposite to Rochford Hundred Golf Club where we were looked after by the lovely Tracy and her staff.
Nicola wore a beautiful dress from Precious Moments in Rayleigh, it really suited her with lace cap sleeves and bodice and a small train. Nicola’s bouquet was gorgeous with lilies and peonies and her friend Laura had made the most amazing wedding cake. Tim and the boys looked great in blue checked suits with ties that matched the burgundy in the bridesmaids dresses. In fact the whole day was supported by friends and family with Tim’s dad, Canon David Parrott making a superb job of conducting the wedding ceremony and being master of ceremonies at the reception.
It was one of the most chilled out and relaxing weddings I have ever been to, lots of laughter and chatting. In the evening we were entertained
by the excellent Geoff Grove who played great music and got everyone in the mood for dancing.
My very best wishes for a great future and tons of happiness.
Wedding Photographer at Rayleigh Windmill in Essex. – Kerry & Colin
Rayleigh Windmill is a smashing little venue, really great for a smaller wedding, intimate and friendly, so it was the ideal choice for Kerry and Colin and provided exactly the right atmosphere for their wedding. The gardens are lovely and provide a perfect backdrop for wedding photography. It had been raining hard, even when Kerry arrived but there were enough breaks in the clouds to get outside and we managed to get all the photos we wanted.
Wedding Photographer at Brandy Hole, Hullbridge, Essex – Lynsey & Justin
Lynsey and Justin chose possibly the hottest day of the year so far to celebrate their marriage with family and friends, Lynsey looked stunning in a Mori Lee gown from Bridal Boutique in Southend, the dress really suited her and was lovely to photograph, she also managed to colour coordinate everybody in the wedding party, bridesmaids and pageboys matched with Dads’ shirts and trousers, and Justin and the boys looked great.
An absolutely lovely family my congratulations go to you both and best wishes for the future.
Wedding Photography at The Lawn, Rochford, Essex – Lisa & Dany
Having fun at the Lawn Rochford Essex with Lisa and Dany. The gardens as always are impeccable making a lovely backdrop for our wedding photography.
If ever a couple were made for each other it is these two and I would like to wish them every happiness for the future.
Essex Wedding Photographer at The Lawn, Rochford – Prunella & Adrian
The Lawn was the chosen venue for Prunella and Adrian, with its beautiful grounds and well organised staff it proved a winner for them. All those lovely old trees and the gardens give a stunning backdrop for my wedding photography so as usual it was a pleasure to work there.
Prunella looked gorgeous in a pale grey dress from Monsoon, they gave such a choice it was hard for her to choose, very modern, stylish and elegant.
Our very best wishes go to a wonderful couple.
Essex Wedding Photographer at The Lawn, Rochford – Tania & Christopher
So my first wedding of the year was celebrated at the magnificent Lawn in Rochford, the theme today is all things classical and swanlike. From a small glass swan on the top of the cake, which Tania made herself, to daughter Ellena-Rose donning a tutu and performing for the wedding guests to the brides entrance, naturally walking down the aisle to the sounds of Swan Lake.
Tania’s dress was from Precious Moments in Rayleigh and suited her well, she also chose a long veil, very beautiful but not so good in the strong winds we were experiencing.
To their credit Tania and Christopher braved the weather and had some photos taken in front of the lovely manor house and the fountain.
Ellena-Rose and Natasha looked lovely in their simple white dresses from Chi Chi of London.
Flowers by Donna Marie Haynes florists in Rochford, only been open two weeks. We had four gorgeous little flower girls and the ever pleasant Jenny Herbert presided over the ceremony.
A smashing day spent with lovely people. My very best wishes go to Tania and Chris for a happy future.
Oh I nearly forgot, we had doves too, something a bit different and special from White Doves Experience.
Essex Wedding Photography at The Lawn, Rochford. – Amanda & Ryan
The Lawn paid tribute to Amanda and Ryan’s fairy-tale wedding, very Christmas like, warm, cosy and very pretty with all the lights and foliage down the stairs. I presume Ryan was thankful to get Amanda to marry him at all as she told me she was supposed to marry one of the ‘Backstreet Boys’ and had the t-shirt to prove it!!
Amanda wore a lovely dress with a lace bodice and we braved the cold to go outside and have wedding photos taken in front of this superb manor house, we soon came back inside and took full advantage of the rooms and fireplaces.
The wedding cake contained a few surprises, from the front it looked like a lovely cake with a Christmas theme pulled by reindeer, then once you looked at the back you saw the Spiderman/Batman/Marvel comics design – very clever.
Essex Wedding Photographer at Rayleigh Windmill & The Hawk, Battlesbridge -Louise & Tony
Louise and Tony had one of the most relaxed weddings I have ever had the pleasure to be involved in, (apart from a few nerves from Tony). a truly happy, friendly and lovely couple there was laughter from start to finish.
The ever dependable Arrow Cars delivered Louise to the Rayleigh Windmill, a smashing little venue for smaller weddings, very intimate and relaxing. The lovely Jenny Herbert was on hand once again to make the ceremony that little bit more special. Afterward this happy couple travelled in their Rolls Royce to the Hawk in Battlesbridge for a fabulous meal and more fun.
They had booked a dining room which looked so welcoming and warm. Beautiful flowers from Courts of Rayleigh in reds and greens with blue thistles and berries added to the richness of the decor. Once again the cake was full of surprises, traditional from the front and lots of clues about this couple who are very accomplished swimmers, Tony having swum the English Channel more than once, on the back.
Thank you for inviting me for the meal which I thoroughly enjoyed. I wish you both every happiness for the future.
Essex Wedding Photographer at St Mary’s, Prittlewell & The Lawn, Rochford – Katie & Kevin
It was lovely to see Katie and Kevin get married in St Mary’s Church in Prittlewell, it is a great church, huge and has fabulous lighting, I particularly like how the colours show up when photographing the couple from the back of the aisle. The weather was cold as we would expect for December but we managed to get some great shots with the church as the backdrop.
Katie looked beautiful and had a gorgeous full dress and veil, she wore a pretty fur bolero to keep out the cold.
Kevin and the boys looked good in blue suits.
Arrow Cars provided the transport to and from the Lawn and Courts of Rayleigh did the flowers which were amazing. The Lawn looked great with it’s many Christmas trees and the orangery was decorated in pinks and greys, the colour scheme really worked. I loved the lit candles on the tables, the fabulous flower arrangements and the huge balloons, so romantic!
Wedding Photographer at Crondon Park, Stock, Essex – Katherine & Tony
Ideally located in beautiful peaceful surroundings, Crondon Park proved to be the perfect place for Katherine and Tony to hold their unforgettable wedding.
Arrow cars laid on the transport and did a great job as usual but i have to say they were somewhat overshadowed by the presence of the Scammell lorries painstakingly restored by Tony and his Dad. Dad’s lorry was a 1954 model and Tony’s a 1964, obviously their pride and joy and naturally we used them in our wedding photography.
The boys interesting and unusual suits came from Del Tailors in Benfleet, Essex, they decided to buy them so I’m imagining they will be dressing up for future family parties and events.
Katherine looked beautiful in a lace and chiffon dress from Ivy Blue in Barleylands, the train looked gorgeous as I took some photos of them walking around the grounds.
It was an absolute pleasure to be the wedding photographer for Katherine and Tony and their families were so friendly, one of the great things about my job is that I get to work with so many lovely people.

Wedding Photography at The Rochford Hotel, Rochford, Essex – Lauren & Sam
I had a vested interest in Lauren and Sam’s wedding as I have known them both for some time. Sam was an usher at my daughters wedding and my son in law was an usher for them. It is so nice when you see a couple that fit so perfectly as these two do, genuinely in love and very happy together.
Another bonus was that I got to work at the Rochford Hotel again, so it was great to see Jane and the team, just so professional and caring and they make the day perfect. The gardens there are lovely, you could be anywhere and there are mature trees and lots of interesting little places to do the wedding photography.
Lauren looked lovely in her dress, from Precious Moments, she said ‘I honestly didn’t think I’d find one that quick but when I tried it on it felt so right….
A big surprise for Sam, from the boys was the drive to the Rochford Hotel in a black Dodge Charger 440 R/T – the menacing looking pursuit car immortalised in Bullitt, in perhaps the ultimate film car chase.
Sam was very emotional and shed a few tears of joy as Lauren walked down the aisle, lately my grooms have been the ones to cry, it’s nice to see that chaps can show their emotions.
John was a great best man and his speech had everyone in stitches.
Love and Best wishes to this lovely little family, every happiness for the future.
Essex Wedding Photographer at Porters and Toulouse, Southend on Sea – Ruth & George
I haven’t been to Porters the civic house and mayors parlour for some time so it was nice to step inside one of Southend’s hidden treasures – an interesting and historic venue built in the 15th Century.
This venue is tucked away behind the walled grounds in the heart of Southend, set in delightful gardens gently sloping down to a lovely pond. It made a splendid backdrop for our wedding photos.
This was the choice for Ruth and George, and it really suited them, as they told me it was also very convenient as they live just over the road.
Ruth and George are two of the nicest people I have ever met, laid back and really friendly and it was lovely to meet their families too. After Porters we all went down to Southend sea front to Toulouse where they enjoyed a three course meal.
I am looking forward to meeting up with them again to discuss their photo choice for their MTA wedding album.
Wedding Photographer at The Lawn, Rochford, Essex – Jan & Martin
Just spent a few hours with a wonderful couple who were celebrating 40 years of marriage ~ ruby wedding anniversary. It was my pleasure to photograph Jan and Martin with their children, extended family and close friends at the Lawn in Rochford.
One of my favourite venues, always good to work there and even better when you get great people to work with. People like Andrew and Mandy who are so professional. We were lucky enough to get one of the loveliest and most sincere registrars I have ever met – Jennie Hubbard (sorry if I’ve spelt your name wrong) and I want to say a special thank you to her as she always goes the extra mile to make people happy.
It was enjoyable taking Jan and Martin around the grounds at the Lawn and doing photos in the gorgeous gardens. I also noticed a brand new gazebo for outdoor weddings ~ something to look forward to.
Jan looked lovely in a proper wedding dress, which was a nice surprise for Martin. They gave each other new rings to celebrate and looked really happy together as they posed for photos. We were blessed with warm sunshine which was just as well as Martin had taken his kit car with him his pride and joy so we needed to get photos in front of that.
Congratulations to them both and I wish you many more happy years to come!
Essex Wedding Photography at The Lawn, Rochford – Valerie & William
I recently visited the Lawn to photograph an unusual wedding, unusual because my lovely french bride Valerie wanted to do things a bit differently and of course being French there were lots of new ideas and things that we English don’t normally do. The first thing i noticed was the table plan, not so much a plan as a collection of beautiful keys with named labels attached.
Wedding Photographer at Apton Hall, Rochford, Essex – Sophie & Phill
Sophie and Phill decided on the wonderful Apton Hall for their wedding ceremony, my first time at this relatively new venue and I was impressed with the building, the gardens and attention to detail. I loved the red brick, the beams, the lovely wooden doors and the old cart. There are so many lovely features to use as a backdrop to my wedding photography, and lots of space. I was also impressed by the staff who bent over backwards to help, huge thanks go out to Chloe and Craig for being consummate professionals and making the day run smoothly, it was an absolute pleasure to work with you. Oh and the meal was great!
Wedding Photographers at Friern Manor, Dunton, Essex – Dalinda & Allan
Nice to go back to Frien Manor, a classic Georgian Manor set within four acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, it is a popular choice for weddings. Situated in Dunton, Brentwood Essex, it is one of the nicest venues I have worked in. It is romantic and has lovely gardens complete with statues, gorgeous old trees, decking and a lake all of which make a great backdrop for wedding photography.
Dalinda and Allan chose Frien Manor to get married in, it was perfect for them and the weather was hot and sunny which really helped.
Dalinda looked beautiful and wore a gorgeous dress, bridesmaids wore a lovely shade of green. Allan looked very handsome in a smart grey suit from Dappers and I enjoyed photographing this lovely couple.
It was an emotional occasion with Delinda’s brother performing the ceremony in Spanish using a translator. Many of her family couldn’t make it and Allan had organized for messages to be shown on a screen, a nice touch which at some points had our bride in tears.
Gorgeous flowers came from the Orchid Room Wickford. The amazing cake came from Jennifer cakes in Martels Wedding and Events village, High Easter Road, Dunmow, Essex.
Huge thanks as always to Carl and our friends at Arrow Cars for providing a lovely vintage wedding car and impeccable service, it really is a pleasure to work with them.
A big thank you to Rebecca, John and Andrew at Frien Manor for organizing the day so well and making it run smoothly.
A beautiful couple I wish them every happiness for the future.
Essex Wedding Photography at Sands, Southend On Sea – Laura & Pete
Laura and Pete chose the fun and relaxed Sands as their wedding venue, it’s great to be married by the estuary to have photos done with our famous local landmark – the Pier – in the background and on one of the hottest days of the year the water was very inviting.
The fabulous Natalie was on hand to make sure it all went well, nothing is ever too much trouble for Natalie and I cannot recommend her enough, her enthusiasm is boundless. Big thanks go out to her and the Sands team who do their utmost to make everything even more special.
Laura and the bridesmaids got ready just down the road at the Park Inn Palace Hotel, so it was great to take photos as they walked along Southend sea front to the sound of car horns and people calling out best wishes. Laura looked lovely and was so happy, showing no signs of nerves. The bridesmaids wore baby blue dresses.
Pete and the boys waited at Sands for their arrival and we did some photos of them on the walkway by the sea, they wore gorgeous blue suits and their ties complemented the bridesmaids’ dresses which really went with the seaside theme.
As always Sands looked great with the strings of pretty lights dancing above our heads as the marriage vows were read and the ceremony took place.
I got some great images of Laura and Pete on the beach, they are such a lovely couple and were happy to walk along and just be themselves in order to get some great shots. It was nice to work with Ben from Blatella again.
One of the happiest weddings I have ever photographed, (thank you for the fish and chips) and I wish them both every happiness in the future.
Wedding Photography at The Lawn, Rochford, Essex – Karen & Chris
Great weather and happy people all helped to make Karen and Chris’ black tie themed wedding at the Lawn a great success.
The Orangery looked gorgeous with displays of white peonies and roses on the tables done by Penny Jane florists in Leigh on Sea.
Karen wore one of the loveliest wedding dresses I have ever seen, a ‘Decklyn’ by Hayley Paige, layered in a handkerchief style, and she looked stunning. The back of the dress had a very effective detail and it was great to photograph as Karen moved and walked around the beautiful gardens at the Lawn. Karen’s bouquet was white peonies, very delicate. One of my favourite photos was Karen walking down the stairs with the dress billowing out behind her.
Chris looked dapper in a grey suit with black velvet jacket.
The cake by Laurie Lee Cakes in Rochford, had four tiers and was amazing, capturing the theme and style of the wedding perfectly.
Essex Wedding Photographers at Kelvedon Church & Marks Hall, Coggeshall – Rosie & Jason
Fabulous day, fabulous wedding, lovely people!
Rosie and Jason chose a beautiful country church to get married in then chose the lovely Marks Hall in Coggeshall, Essex to hold the reception. Both venues were new to me and I loved them. I have a penchant for country churches and Kelvedon church didn’t disappoint, lots of lush greenery to use as a backdrop to my wedding photography. Jason and the boys wore blue suits with fab checked waistcoats and pink ties to match the bridesmaids’ pink dresses.
Rosie is as her name suggests a beautiful English rose and she looked a picture in a lace dress and matching veil.
The big surprise of the day was the transport, Rosie and her mum arranged for the actual bus driven by her Grandad in the 50’s to ferry them to the church, some of his colleagues were on the bus too.
The weather was hot and sunny, and guests were able to make the most of the beautiful gardens at Marks Hall. Such a lovely venue, it has extensive grounds, a lake and formal gardens all of which are superb for wedding photographs. The geese were very protective of their goslings. Another fine bird was the peacock which strutted around the grounds displaying its beautiful plumage.
Big thanks go to all the team who were very friendly and welcoming, I hope to be working at Marks Hall again soon.
I look forward to Rosie and Jason’s return from honeymoon when they can see their wedding photos and we can make choices for their Graphistudio album.
