Two fabulous weddings this weekend, one set in the heart of the Essex countryside, the other on Southend’s seafront. Sally and Phil chose the church of St Mary the Virgin for their wedding, a beautiful country church in the parish of Fryerning.
This was the third and final daughter of cricket legend Graham Gooch to get married so it was quite poignant. Hannah was celebrating her 6 year anniversary and Megan had recently celebrated 2 years. They have all been a pleasure to photograph and it was like working with old friends. I have seen Chloe, Hannah and Frazer’s daughter grow into a confident little girl and she was happy to pose for photographs.
Sally looked beautiful in a classic Biba dress, vintage lace shoes and a pretty hair decoration. The bridesmaids wore dresses in a lovely baby blue colour with intricate lace capped sleeves. Phil and the boys wore crisp navy suits with matching light blue ties.
Rev Patrick Sherring took the service and I have to thank him for letting me stand at the front to capture Sally coming down the aisle on the arm of her father.
A vintage white jaguar took Sally and Phil to Le Talbooth in Dedham where their reception was held. Le Talbooth is a fantastic venue with beautifully maintained garden. An immaculate lawn area leads down to the edge of the river which flows gently under a bridge giving a stunning backdrop for wedding photography.
A trio of musicians provided soothing background music and guests were entertained by a magician.
I knew the flowers would be stunning as this is Megan’s business and she and Sally work together. They had worked hard to create amazing flower arrangements and bridal bouquets using roses, hydrangeas and orchids to name but a few. The 5 tier wedding cake stood on a table in the centre of the room, the tables in the marquee looked incredible and speeches brought smiles and laughter.
Honoured guests were Graham’s Uncle and Aunt who celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary this year, and it was lovely to be able to capture this established married couple sharing the joy of our newly weds.
